I'm Larry
I started Long Story Short after 20 years as a film and video editor in the advertising business, where I edited commercials for companies like P&G, Coca-Cola, L'Oreal, and AT&T. But I wanted to do something that felt closer to my heart: personal history documentaries, the filming of a person's life stories and experiences.
I'm fortunate to have filmed my own grandparents' personal histories before they died, and always thought of providing this special service for other families. In making these videos, I could not only use my artistic and technical skills, but also my sensitivity with others.
To make a long story short, I'm a good listener. I bring out the essence of a person's life story with my interviewing skills. Now I meet friendly, interesting people, learn about their lives, and help them carry on the tradition of storytelling in their family.

Spent 15 years as a professional film and video editor in the advertising industry, editing high-end broadcast commercials for Fortune 500 companies including P&G, Coca-Cola, L'Oreal, Visa, Fisher-Price, Staples, and AT&T. Developed expertise in cinematic storytelling, color correction, sound design, and creative editing.
Founded Long Story Short videography
Transitioned from commercial advertising to focus on personal history documentaries and human-centered video production. Started Long Story Short as a Montreal-based videography service specializing in personal documentaries, capturing life stories, family histories, and intimate video narratives.
Expanded into professional business video production
Began offering comprehensive business video services alongside personal documentary work. Now provides brand videos, promotional content, training videos, corporate event coverage, and creative business videography for companies of all sizes in Montreal and beyond.
